Two Victims Revealed in the Providence Campus Attack as Authorities Continue Search for Gunman.

Both young individuals who were killed in the weekend's mass shooting on the university campus were honored at the start of the week – as a manhunt for their assailant continued following the release by authorities in Rhode Island of the single suspect of interest in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a ceremony on Sunday.

Her role included second-in-command of Brown’s branch of the College Republicans organization, the group said. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also posted condolences publicly, stating: “There are no words. Remembering her loved ones and companions, particularly her mother and father.”

An International Student

The second fatality was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, his family confirmed.

The victim's identification was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a tribute.

Details of the Attack

Nine more persons were hurt in the violent event in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Authorities said on Sunday evening that a 24-year-old male taken into custody in a search at a lodging about 17 miles from the scene earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“There is a killer at large,” declared Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you must reassess and pursue a different angle, and this is precisely what occurred over the last approximately one day.”

Public Fear

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, admitted: “It is expected to provoke new worry for our community”.

The shooter began shooting inside a lecture hall in the engineering facility on Saturday afternoon, shooting over four dozen bullets from a handgun, a police source told the news agency.

Officers that raided the lodging found two handguns and magazines when the suspect was taken into custody, as was reported.

The Wounded Victims

Among those wounded, one pupil was released from the hospital, mentioned the university president, Christina Paxson. An additional seven were in serious yet stable state, and another was critically ill, officials reported on Sunday.

Durham Academy, a private academy in Durham, North Carolina, said a recent graduate, Kendall Turner, was among those critically wounded.

Additional Memorials

Cook was honored at a church service in Birmingham on Sunday. A clergyman said, “Her presence was a wonderful, steady, pious glow not only here growing up... but at Brown she was an incredible light in that institution as well.”

A group leader, Martin Bertao, posted a statement from the club. “Ella was recognized for her bold, brave, and kind heart as she worked for her branch and fellow classmates,” he said.

Jonathan Henick, Jonathan Henick, said he was “profoundly grieved” by Umurzokov’s death in a statement. “We offer our heartfelt sympathies to his relatives, friends, and schoolmates and lament the passing of his potential.”

The weekend's murders at Brown, the country's seventh most historic higher education institution with about thousands of bachelor's and 3,000 graduate students, took place amid one of at least 392 mass shootings documented across the United States so far in this year, according to statistics.
