Three Athletes In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Award

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The event will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
